JMC drive demolishes illegal shop at Vikram Chowk

Jammu Municipal Corporation on  Monday demolished a shop at Vikram chowk near Lambad Da Dhaba saying it an illegal construction over a drain.

The JMC officials have warned locals not to raise any structure over such drains. The razed establishment was served a notice earlier but was demolished today, when its owner showed no interest in bringing it down all by himself.

Fire broke at a house in Jammu city


Fire broke out at a house in Jammu city today near Dogra Chowk infront of Vivanta Hotel.

After the fire mishap, the hotel staff of Vivanta and locals reached at the spot and began dousing the flames before the fire brigade team could arrive.

All the goods in the residence reduced to ashes, while no casualties or injuries to anyone reported in this incident.

Activists held agitation in Jammu demanding ‘waiting lists’ back in government services

Several activists of Jammu Joint Students Federation (JJSF) held a agitation against LG administration outside GGM Science college at Jewel in Jammu city demanding waiting list provision back in government recruitment services conducted by JKSSB,JKPSC in the J&K region.

In November last year, a decision was made by the General Administration Department (GAD), aimed at repealing rules that mandated recruiting agencies such as the JKPSC and JKSSB to maintain a wait list alongside the select list.

Earlier, alongside the final list, recruiting agencies would create a wait list to accommodate aspirants for any “drop out” vacancies that may arise during the recruitment process.

The activists demanded that the practice of making waiting lists should continue just like it used to be earlier during recruitments, so that the unemployed youth can get a chance to earn an income.

Burglars targeted shop at Bari Brahmana

Burglars on Monday targeted a Karyana shop at Bari Brahmana in Samba, which they have burgled thrice.

The shop is situated at Sarore in Bari Brahmana of Samba, which is also a hot spot of drug suppliers and addicts.
