 Jammu and Kashmir’s Weather in the Past 24 Hours

The higher reaches of North Kashmir have witnessed significant snowfall over the past 24 hours. Gulmarg and Gurez received nearly 15 inches of wet snow, while some other higher altitudes recorded up to 2 feet.

In the plains of North Kashmir, Kupwara district was the most affected, with snowfall accumulation varying between 1 to 4 inches in plains. Its higher reaches saw heavier deposits, reaching up to 1.5 feet of wet snow.

Rainfall, accompanied by a couple of inches of snow was observed across many other plains of North Kashmir.

Central Kashmir experienced rainfall from yesterday afternoon, which gradually transitioned into snowfall during the evening. The plains in this region recorded 3 to 4 inches of wet snow.

In South Kashmir, Shopian emerged as the most affected area, receiving around 4 inches of wet snow in the plains and up to 1 foot in the higher altitudes.
Parts of Pulwama recorded snowfall ranging from 1 to 3 inches in the plains.

Meanwhile, Anantnag and Kulgam districts were the least affected, with minimal snow accumulation of 1 cm to 1 inch in the plains, though their higher reaches recorded up to 1 foot of wet snow.
