Ishfaq Jabbar visits Nagbal, demands removal of garbage dumped on roadside
Jammu Kashmir United Movement (JKUM) President Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar on Thursday visited Nagbal Ganderbal to address the issue of garbage accumulation along the roadside. As he arrived at the location he was astounded by the overwhelming amount of trash that had been left unattended for a long time.
Accompanied by a team of JKUM members and DDC Member Ganderbal ‘C’ Moulvi Mohd Yousuf, Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar listened attentively as people shared their grievances about the unhygienic conditions caused by the unchecked garbage disposal.
Recognizing the urgency of the matter Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar in his passionate speech, emphasized the need for immediate action by the authorities to remove the accumulated garbage.
He highlighted the detrimental impact it had on the overall environment public health and the aesthetic appeal of the Nagbal Ganderbal area.
Mr Jabbar said that the road is used by tourists travelling from Srinagar to famous tourist spots and religious places of Ganderbal district. He said the tourists are greeted with the heaps of garbage and stink which tarnishes the image of the JKUT.
Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar urged the local administration including Rural Sanitation department Ganderbal to take swift action in clearing the garbage from the roadside. He stressed that it was their responsibility to ensure a clean and healthy environment for the residents of Nagbal Ganderbal.
He demanded that the garbage dumped along the road side be immediately cleared and that the authorities initiate measures so that no dumping takes place again.
“With neglect by the authorities, dumping of garbage along the roadside is becoming a very serious issue”, he added.
