Urpash Water Supply Scheme gets NOC from PDC
Work on 93-MW New Ganderbal Hydropower Project will start soon: Ishfaq Jabbar
Jammu 3 Jan: There is a big relief to residents of Urpash, Gutlibagh, Buderkund and other areas as the government’s water supply scheme who was hit a road block in the absence of a no objection certificate from the Power Development Corporation was today cleared by former MLA Ganderbal Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar with his meeting with MD PDC Shri Raja Yaqoob Farooq.
According to a press statement issued here Sheikh Ishfaq Jabbar Former law maker from Ganderbal constituency today called on MD PDC Raja Yaqoob Farooq and demanded that the No Objection Certificate (NOC) be granted in favour of Urpash Water Supply Scheme. Jabbar said that the scheme to supply potable water to lakhs of residents of many villages such as Urpash, Budurkund and other villages was sanctioned few years back and the project was stuck only because of NOC from PDC.
MD PDC Raja Yaqoob Farooq on spot issued directions for issuance of NOC.
Mr Jabbar raised the issue of construction of the 93-Megawatt New Ganderbal Power Project and said that if the project is completed, the power supply in J&K would increase and to some extent help tide over the power crisis.
MD PDC assured Sheikh that the work on the New Ganderbal Hydro Electric Power Project will start soon as the tendering process is almost complete and three firms have been short listed, he added.
Ishfaq also raised the issue of construction of different roads which include Urpash, Budulund and other roads on which MD assured Jabbar that these roads will be constructed and macdamized this year.
