Irfan Naqib lashes out a Wakaf Board demands revocation of “increase” in monthly rent against Shops, other Wakaf Properties

Expressing serious concern over the increase in monthly rent against shops, rooms and other Wafkaf Properties, Senior Congress Irfan Naqib has said that there was no justification for increase against monthly rent by the Wakaf Board.

Naqib demanded that order with regard to instant increase in monthly rent must be revoked to ensure justice to tenants.
Reacting to the monthly increase against the rent of Wakaf properties especially shops and other commercial buildings, Naqib said the tenants have been paying yearly Rs 300 to 400 appx since decades towards the Wakaf Board, but some time-back the authorities through an order passed asked the tenants pay 850 appx per month, which has disappointed the tenants given their financial position and other ugliest situations they have confronted especially pandemic.
The Irony is that after issuing order with regard rent of 850 appx ,the wakf Board came out with another dictatorial Order asking the tenants to pay Rs.3500 appx per month, which sans any logic. One fails to understand as to when the rent was increased upto 850 PM, what forced Wakaf authorities to issue another order asking tenants to Pay Rs.3500 Appx (PM) which has probably be done in a hush hush manner aiming to harass the tenants for the reasons known to the authorities concerned, Irfan Naqib said.
I am surprised to observe that Wakaf Authorities have issued orders without doing any ground with regard to financial conditions of the tenants especially market position, Naqib added and appealed the concerned authorities especially Wakaf Board Chairman to revoke order so passed with regard to monthly rent to ensure that the tenants(Wakaf) are able to earn livelihood to sustain their families.
