Two legendary Indian captains met at the sidelines of Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Chennai Super Kings on Monday, 18 April at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. After a hard-fought victory, CSK captain MS Dhoni spent some moments with Virat Kohli, sharing a laugh or two in between.
The duo however, were not the stars for their respective teams in the RCB vs CSK game. While Dhoni got just one ball to face coming out in the final over of the first innings, Kohli was dismissed via a terribly unfortunate incident. Kohli inside-edged the ball into his legs while trying to step down to the bowler, and it ricocheted into the stumps.
Chennai Super Kings held their nerve after scoring one of their biggest totals in IPL history. The MS Dhoni side saw off a tremendous attacking spree from Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell to secure victory by 8 runs. The win took CSK to the third position in the league table displacing Gujarat Titans on the basis of a superior Net Run Rate.
This was Chennai’s third win off their IPL 2023 campaign. The team had come off a narrow loss against Rajasthan Royals in their last game at Chennai.
