Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) players and support staff will wear green jerseys against Rajasthan Royals (RR) at M Chinnaswamy Stadium on April 23. RCB came up with the idea for the ‘Green Game’ in 2011. Since then, the team has dedicated one of its home matches to ‘Go Green’ efforts in order to raise awareness about the importance of a cleaner and greener environment. This year’s green RCB jerseys are manufactured from recyclable garbage gathered at the stadium. The RCB’s season opener alone produced 9047.6 kg of garbage, with as many as 19,488 water bottles utilised. According to reports, each game generates an average of eight tonnes of dry waste, food waste, and other recyclable waste.
