IPL 2023: I almost hit a wide ball for six: Virat Kohli tells Glenn Maxwell after 63-ball 100 vs SRH

IPL 2023: Royal Challengers Bangalore star Virat Kohli was jubilant after hitting a record-equalling hundred in RCB’s thumping victory over SunRisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2023 match. Kohli was seen talking about his 103-m six with teammate Glenn Maxwell in the dressing room.

Kohli hit a 103m six dispatching Nitish Kumar Reddy’s ball into the stands on the first ball of the ninth over of RCB’s innings. Kohli swung his arms with brute force and cleared the ropes after receiving a short-ish delivery. Kohli went on to hit 100 off 63 balls as the Royal Challengers Bangalore chased down their target to beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by eight wickets on Thursday.

The RCB’s official social media accounts shared a video of the Bangalore team celebrating their victory in their dressing room. “SRH v RCB Dressing Room Reactions. A century for the ages, a partnership for the record books, and a victory that takes us to the Top 4 in the points table. A Happy Dressing Room but subdued celebrations as the team realizes there’s a job in hand,” RCB captioned the video.

IPL 2023: Kohli has 538 runs from 13 matches this season, placing him fourth on the list of top scorers, but his strike rate of 135.85 is low for a top-order batter. Kohli has hit 15 sixes, compared to 36 by Faf du Plessis, his captain and the season’s leading scorer, and 30 by teammate Glenn Maxwell.

“Yes, you little strong boys, 103, I am taking that with me. Why are you surprised? Look at him. That’s my biggest 6 of this season so I will take it anyways,” Kohli said while chatting to Maxwell in the dressing room.
