Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway set the stage on fire as CSK returned to their spiritual home, Chepauk, on Monday, 3rd April by setting a new powerplay record at the ground.
This was CSK’s return to their iconic home ground after almost four years and the excitement was great right from the start of the match. LSG had won the toss and put the home team into bat.After a slight delay at the beginning, Gaikwad and Conway took over and took the attack to the LSG bowlers as they started playing their shots with relative ease.
Gaikwad started from where he left off in the IPL 2023 opener against Gujarat Titans. The CSK opener, who had scored 92 runs in the first match, started to take a liking for the LSG bowlers with him scoring 20 runs off Krishnappa Gowtham’s over.
