District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal today launched the Intensified Mission Indradhanush 5.0 in the District here at Mother & Child Health/Immunization Section of GMC Rajouri Associated Hospital.
The launch aims to vaccinate all the children in the 0-5 year age group & pregnant women who are left out, dropout, missed, partially vaccinated or unvaccinated with the mission that no child or mother is left without Vaccination. The IMI 5.0 Nation Level campaign will run in three rounds in the months of August, September & October 2023 with the aim to Eliminate Measle Rubella by December 2023.
The DDC highlighted the importance of immunization in safeguarding the health and well-being of the infants and pregnant women. He emphasized that immunization is a critical public health intervention that prevents the spread of diseases and saves lives.
He also commended the efforts of the Health Department officials and expressed confidence in their ability to successfully implement the program. He acknowledged the necessary training received by the officials to ensure the smooth execution of the program and urged them to work diligently to achieve the desired immunization coverage targets.
The DDC Rajouri expressed his gratitude to all stakeholders involved in the program and He urged them to ensure that the infants and pregnant women receive the required immunizations to protect them from vaccine-preventable diseases.
The IMI 5.0 program aims to enhance immunization coverage in the district by providing immunization services to all eligible infants and pregnant women. It focuses on hard-to-reach areas and regions with low immunization coverage to ensure that no child or pregnant woman is left behind. The program is a significant step towards achieving equitable access to immunization and protecting the pregnant women and infants from vaccine-preventable diseases.
Among the others, the Chief Medical Officer Dr Rajinder Langer, Medical Superintendent Dr Mehmood Bajar, Dy Chief Medical Officer Dr Manohar Rana, District Immunization officer Dr Dev Raj, Smt Uma Devi Incharge MCH & team were present during the event.
