Instagram Expands Branded Content Tools to Threads, Empowering Influencer Collaborations Amid Ad Constraints

Instagram, owned by Meta Platforms, is planning to introduce its branded content tools to Threads. This move aims to assist marketers in collaborating with influencers for paid partnerships on the social media platform when traditional advertising options are not available. Reuters reached out to Meta for comment, but no immediate response was received.

This development follows Threads, often seen as a competitor to Elon Musk’s Twitter, achieving 100 million users within an unprecedented five days. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg previously stated that the company would consider monetizing Threads only when it reaches a billion users.

Instagram enables users to transfer their accounts, credentials, and followers to Threads, granting the text-based platform access to Instagram’s massive user base of over 2 billion individuals. Despite the absence of advertising on Threads, some companies have already begun creating accounts to publish organic content.

Nevertheless, the absence of hashtags and keyword search functionalities on Threads may limit its appeal to advertisers.
