Scores of employees of an Industrial Estate in Sopore town of north Kashmir Baramulla district on Wednesday held a protest over power crises, stating that they suffered huge losses.
Industrial Estates President Sopore Javed Bhat said that they are facing huge losses due to power crises which are persistent for the last two months.
“On average, the industry suffers around 2-3 Crores losses per day. In the absence of power supply, we are now thinking to shift the sector to Jammu,” he added.
The protestors warned of massive agitation if their demand is not met and urged the administration to intervene in the matter.
Notably, a power crisis has gripped the town at a time when the government is installing smart meters in the area.
