The Indian chess team celebrated their remarkable achievement in true Rohit Sharma style after winning double gold medals at the 2024 Chess Olympiad. Both the men’s and women’s teams made history in Budapest by securing gold in their respective events on Sunday, September 22.
After their historic victory, the team was jubilant on the podium, proudly displaying the national tricolor. Shortly thereafter, Tania Sachdev and D. Gukesh recreated Lionel Messi’s famous walk celebration from the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Earlier this year, India’s cricket captain Rohit Sharma was also seen celebrating in a similar fashion after India’s T20 World Cup 2024 victory.
