Mendhar, 4 February 2025 – In a commendable endeavor to foster health consciousness, the local Rashtriya Rifles Battalion, operating under the esteemed aegis of the Counter Insurgency Force (ROMEO), orchestrated an insightful and interactive awareness session for the bright young minds of Government Higher Secondary Girls School, Mendhar in observance of World Cancer Day.
This thoughtfully curated event sought to illuminate the pivotal aspects of cancer awareness, encompassing its prevention, early detection, and the indispensable virtues of a wholesome lifestyle. The Rashtriya Rifles Battalion’s Regimental Medical Officer(RMO), delivered an erudite discourse on the multifaceted nature of cancer delving into its diverse forms, underlying risk factors, early warning signs, and the paramount importance of prompt medical intervention. Particular emphasis was laid upon the significance of routine health screenings, self-examinations, and the adoption of balanced living practices to mitigate cancer-related risks.
The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from 116 inquisitive students and 9 dedicated teachers, who engaged fervently in dynamic discussions and an interactive Q&A segment. The dialogue adeptly dispelled prevailing myths surrounding cancer, underscoring the critical message that an early diagnosis, coupled with timely and appropriate treatment, can transform cancer from a fatal affliction to a manageable condition.
Addressing the gathering, the officer accentuated the transformative power of health education, particularly among the youth, positioning them as catalysts for disseminating awareness within their communities.
