India will look to give a formidable performance against Uzbekistan in their second match in the AFC Asian Cup.
In the first match against Australia, India’s gritty defence did not let their more fancied opponents score till the 50th minute before letting in 2 goals and the Blue Tigers will be hoping for more of the same on Thursday.
Uzbekistan, who have beaten Asian powerhouses like China, Oman and Bolivia while drawing with Iran and Mexico in the past 1 year, did not have the best start to the Asian Cup as well with their 0-0 draw against Syria in their opening match.
In their storied history, India and Uzbekistan have played eight times against each other with the former winning just once. Uzbekistan were the victors five times while two matches had ended in draws. The last match between the two sides had also gone in favour of the Uzbeks who won 2-1 in the 2001 Merdeka Cup in Kuala Lumpur.
The AFC Asian Cup match between India vs Uzbekistan will be played at the Ahmed bin Ali Stadium in Al Rayyan.
The AFC Asian Cup match between India vs Uzbekistan will begin at 8 PM IST.
