On Thursday, India recorded more than 12,000 new Covid-19 cases, which is an uptick of nearly 2,000 cases from the previous day. According to the daily Covid report released by the government, 12,591 new cases were reported. Presently, the nation’s active caseload stands at 65,286, which represents 0.14% of the total cases.
There has been a notable surge in Covid-19 cases in India compared to Wednesday’s figures, which reported a total of 10,542 cases, as per the union health ministry’s website. Earlier this week, there was a slight decline in cases, with 7,633 new infections reported on Tuesday and 9,111 on Monday. As of the latest daily Covid report, the total number of cases recorded in India is 44,857,992 (4.48 crore).
As per the government’s data, the number of discharged cases in India currently stands at 44,261,476. In terms of fatalities, four deaths were reported in Chhattisgarh, five in Delhi, two in Himachal Pradesh, three in Karnataka, one each in Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, and Punjab, and six in Maharashtra, along with two in Rajasthan. Over the past 24 hours, two deaths were reported in Kerala, and 11 reconciled deaths were reported.
