India, Nepal vow to resolve border dispute, PM Modi says will take ties to Himalayan heights

India and Nepal have decided to amicably resolve the long standing boundary issues between the two countries.

During a bilateral meeting held on Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Nepalese counterpart Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, who is on a four day visit to india discussed in detail the boundary dispute.

The two countries had witnessed heightened border tensions when former prime minister KP Sharma Oli was at the helm of affairs. Since then, both sides have been attempting to repair the damage.

During the joint press statement of PM Modi and his Nepalese counterpart after official talks, both the leaders committed to resolving the boundary issues.

Prachanda said, “Prime Minister Modi Ji and I discussed the boundary matters. I urge Prime Minister Modi Ji to resolve the boundary matters through established bilateral diplomatic mechanisms.”

On his part, PM Modi said, “We will continue to work to take our relations to the height of the Himalayas And in this spirit, we will resolve all the issues, be it the boundary issue or any other issue. I am happy to share that the partnership between India and Nepal has been a super hit.
