Impart training to youth in demand driven skill courses: DC Kulgam to Officers

Impart training to youth in demand driven skill courses, stressed Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat to the concerned officers of RSETI during a meeting convened here to review functioning and progress of Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI).
During the meeting, Director RSETI, Khursheed Ahmad through a PowerPoint presentation briefed the chair about the overall functioning of RSETI.
He briefed the chair about the progress and said that RSETI has conducted a total of 166 training programmes so far in which 4906 candidates have been trained in various trades and skills and with a settled number of 3173 candidates through credit linkage and financial support under various self employment schemes whereas 1238 candidates established their business units by self-financing.
Later action plan/ activity calendar of RSETI for the year 2023-24 was tabled and after a threadbare discussion activity calendar was approved.
As per the calendar RSETI will impart training to 385 candidates in different skills and trades during the financial year 2023-24 which includes Beauty Parlour management, House wiring, Tailoring, Bee Keeping, Computer Accounting, Mushroom Cultivation and other courses besides training in newly introduced courses this year.
The DC instructed the Director RSETI, Superintendent ITIs to come up with a comprehensive plan to provide training to youth in woodcarving and food processing.
The meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Showkat Ahmad Rather, Additional Deputy Commissioner Viqar Ahmed Giri, Joint Director Planning Zahid Sajad, General Manager Industries Bashir Ahmad, Director RSETI Khurshid Ahmad, District Information Officer Showkat Hussain, Assistant Director Employment, Principal ITIs and Polytechnic College Kulgam besides other concerned officers.
