IED found along national highway in Kishtwar

Jammu: A major tragedy was averted with the timely detection of an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted on Kishtwar- Batote National highway along the bank of Chenab river near Dul Hasti power project in Kishtwar district of J&K last night.
The Kishtwar police got inputs about the IED and they reached at the spot and took it in their possession.
After the discovery of planted IED by unknown terrorists experts of the Bomb Disposal Squad were called on the scene and they later destroyed the IED in a controlled mechanism.
The sources have said that there are three terrorists who are active in Kishtwar from a long time and they have planted this IED to target a VIP movement in the area.
A case under relevant sections of the law has been registered and an investigation is still in progress.
