Sarabhai vs Sarabhai fame Rajesh Kumar opens up on Bankrupt allegations and Farming conflict by saying “I told my father I wanted to become a farmer”
Rajesh Kumar is known for his impeccable comedy timing. Rajesh has joined Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon starrer Teri Baaton Mein Uljha Jiya. He is best known for playing Rosesh Sarabhai in the popular sitcom, Sarabhai vs Sarabhai.
The actor had taken up farming for a while, that is, a couple of years before COVID. He has opened up on his struggles with farming, the bankruptcy following the same and also revealed how farming helped him better his craft.
In an interview with a digital portal, “In 2017, I decided I don’t want to act. I told my father I wanted to become a farmer. I was doing rallies for rivers and farming. This shift came suddenly in me and I wanted to do something. I decided to go back to my village in Gaya. We had land. I completely put myself into it. We have always portrayed farmers as poor. I wanted to change that perspective. My family supported me big time.”
That time Sarabhai Vs Sarabhai second season came and it didn’t work. That’s the thing with Sarabhai, it never works when it is on air. It is a slow burner and works later,” he added.
He spoke about his experience as a farmer and what led to him being a bankrupt.
Post Covid-19, I was almost bankrupt. I didn’t have anything in my pocket. I also had a loan. Here I learnt when you stop thinking about yourself and think about others, other start thinking about you and this is a cycle. I feel proud when my two sons write actor/farmer against my name. Now I have taken up this opportunity to take farming to a greater scale to support the farmer life. We will be back full-fledged”. However, I kept going on. I was able to find my way eventually.
