On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled the newly constructed Parliament building in Delhi, and numerous Bollywood celebrities expressed their admiration for it on social media. One of them was Hema Malini, a former actress turned politician, who visited the building after its inauguration and shared several informal photos of herself to provide her followers with a glimpse of the interior.
Hema Malini adorned herself in an elegant pink saree adorned with floral patterns for the momentous occasion and positioned herself outside the gate featuring the Hindi inscription “Satyameva Jayate.” Overflowing with excitement, she enthusiastically raised her hands while capturing some photographs. Additionally, she took the opportunity to sit on the newly furnished seats and posed alongside her fellow Lok Sabha members. In one of the pictures, she can be seen striking a pose in front of a golden artwork on a wall, resembling the depiction of Samudra Manthan.
Hema Malini shared the captured moments and accompanied them with a caption that read, “Day 1 – at the inauguration of the stunning new Parliament building, symbolizing India’s progress into a promising future and establishing our nation’s esteemed position among advanced countries. Commenting on the current situation, Sonu Sood expressed his thoughts by tweeting, “Garv karo rajneeti nahi (be proud, don’t engage in politics). A proud moment for every Indian. Jai Hind.”
Ranveer Singh expressed his joy and excitement about the inauguration of the new building on Twitter, describing it as an “architectural marvel.” In his tweet, he wrote, “The new parliament building is an architectural marvel and a symbol of progress. #MyParliamentMyPride @narendramodi #NewParliamentBuilding #India.”
Shah Rukh Khan lent his voice to a video showcasing the interior of the new Parliament Building. On Friday, he shared the video on Twitter, accompanied by a heartfelt message. He wrote, “What a magnificent new home for the people who uphold our Constitution, represent every citizen of this great Nation, and protect the diversity of her people. @narendramodi ji. A new Parliament building for a New India, while carrying forward the timeless dream of glory for India. Jai Hind! #MyParliamentMyPride.”
Akshay Kumar also shared the video on Friday, expressing his pride, and wrote, “Proud to see this magnificent new Parliament building. May it forever stand as an iconic symbol of India’s journey towards progress. #MyParliamentMyPride.”
The four-story triangular-shaped structure covers a built-up area of 64,500 square meters. It features three main gates, namely Gyan Dwar, Shakti Dwar, and Karma Dwar, and will have separate entrances for VIPs, Members of Parliament (MPs), and visitors. The materials used in constructing the new building have been sourced from various parts of the country.
