The J&K administration on Monday deployed heavy police force to foil protest of hundreds of daily wagers of the Jal Shakti Department who have given a call to stage a massive rally, seeking fulfilment of their long-pending demands including regularisation and release of pending wages.
The agitators have come from different districts of Jammu division to press the local govt to fulfill their long pending demands.
Cops have been seen on the protest site to restrict the movement of PHE daily wagers from coming out of the office by laying concertina wire outside the PHE office.
A protesting daily wager said, “The govt has compelled us to stage this protest. I have served decades working in this department but the govt is not paying any heed to our issues”.
