On the second day of the counter-infiltration operation, Army said that one heavily armed militant was killed along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Sunday.
They said the joint team neutralized one heavily armed terrorist and *recovered 1 AK Rifle, 2 AK Magazines, 57 AK Rounds, 2 Pistols, 3 Pistol Magazines, and other war-like stores from the site*. The operation was launched on late Saturday in the Kamalakote Uri sector in the general area.
Earlier Army said that “based on intelligence inputs regarding a likely infiltration bid, a joint anti- infiltration operation was launched by the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police along the LoC in general area Uri.
They said alert troops spotted suspicious activity and challenged, which resulted in terrorists opening indiscriminate fire and the vigilant troops effectively responded and retaliated.
During the gun fight heavily armed militant was killed on Sunday.
