Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar is likely to resign from his post on Tuesday, according to media reports.
The Haryana CM will reportedly be contesting the Lok Sabha election from Karna’s seat.
Meanwhile, Union Agriculture Minister Arjun Munda and BJP General Secretary Tarun Chugh are on their way to Chandigarh to resolve the BJP-Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) alliance crisis in Haryana.
Cracks have reportedly developed in the BJP-JJP alliance in Haryana over seat sharing for Lok Sabha polls. The crisis worsened after BJP’s Hisar MP Brijendra Singh joined Congress.
There could be a complete cabinet reshuffle with no JJP representative in the state today, as per The sources report.
The BJP is likely to take support of independent MLAs instead.
The BJP and JJP came together after the 2019 assembly polls as the JJP fell short of majority.
The JJP has been seeking two seats- Hisar and Bhiwani-Mahendragarh Lok Sabha seats but the BJP wants to contest all 10 constituencies. Dushyant Chautala, founder of JJP and deputy CM in Haryana, had represented Hisar until 2019.
Meanwhile, independent MLA Dharampal Gonder from Haryana’s Nilokheri said he has extended support to BJP.
“In the meeting with the CM, we discussed about work being done in the constituency. We did not discuss anything about the alliance (BJP-JJP)”.
