‘Harud Festival’ to promote a drug-free lifestyle held at Shopian

Harud Festival, a day-long function was organized by the Cashmere Foundation and District Administration, Shopian today at GDC Shopian to promote a drug-free lifestyle among youth.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Mohammad Shahid Saleem Dar emphasized the importance of staying away from drugs and encouraged young people to engage in productive activities and pursue their studies passionately.
This festival is a great way to channelize the energy of youth into positive pursuits, helping them to grow into responsible and contributing members of society, DC said while addressing the mammoth gathering of students.
By promoting cultural and artistic expressions, the festival celebrated the rich heritage of Kashmir. Departments including GDC Shopian, Education, Social Welfare, Election and Information collaborated in taking efforts to address drug addiction, spreading awareness about the dangers of substance abuse.
The efforts of the Cashmere Foundation, working together to make a positive impact on the community were also highlighted on the occasion.
Various social media influencers and artists performed on the occasion while also celebrating the local talent of students of the district.
The function was also attended by ADC, Dr.Zakir Hussain Faaz, ACR, Dy.DEO, CEO, DIO, DSWO, SHO Shopian and other officers.
