Pattan, April 19, 2025 – Residents of Hanjiwera, Khore, and Trikolbal in the Pattan area are once again facing a distressing situation as the Ferozpora Nallah has reportedly overflowed due to recent heavy rainfall. Locals report that the overflowing water has entered residential areas, causing damage to crops and houses, and even affecting the nearby highway.
According to community members, the Ferozpora Nallah has historically posed a significant threat during rainy seasons. Locals claim to have repeatedly appealed to authorities, “100 times” as one resident stated, to construct concrete bunds along the Nallah’s banks. The residents believe that such permanent structures would effectively prevent the water from entering their localities, thus mitigating the recurring damage.
The current situation underscores the long-standing concerns of the Hanjiwera, Khore, and Trikolbal communities and highlights their urgent need for a sustainable solution to the perennial flooding issue.
