KUPWARA APRIL 12 : Another injured college girl, who was critically hurt in the Handwara road accident, has succumbed to her injuries at JVC hospital Srinagar, taking the death toll to two.
The deceased, identified as 21-year-old Mymoona, a student of Degree College Sogam, was referred to Srinagar from GMC Handwara in a critical condition. According to her attendants, the picnic bus carrying students turned turtle at Vodhpora, Handwara.
Earlier on Saturday, the ill-fated bus, which was en route to Srinagar for a picnic, met with an accident, leaving over two dozen students injured.
One girl had died on the spot.
Officials confirmed that the injured were initially shifted to GMC Handwara, and three critically injured students, including Mymoona, were later referred to hospitals in Srinagar for advanced treatment. Despite efforts, Mymoona could not survive.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
