Srinagar, 5 May, (Gulistan News): The bus stop at Gund Dachana in Bandipora district, located along the Bandipora-Srinagar highway and built in 2005, has fallen into severe disrepair due to years of neglect.
Residents say the lack of maintenance over the years has rendered the structure unusable, causing immense inconvenience to daily commuters from nearby areas like Argam, Chatti Bandi, Brar and Gund Dachana.
“For several years now, no repair work has been done and passengers are left to stand in the open, exposed to harsh weather conditions,” said Mohd Ashraf, a local resident.
“The situation has worsened as the shed has become a shelter for stray dogs, making it unsafe and further reducing its utility as a waiting area for commuters”, said another resident
Local residents have appealed to the administration to take immediate measures and renovate the bus stop to ease the difficulties faced by daily travelers.
When contacted, the Deputy Commissioner of Bandipora stated, “I am not aware of the matter at the moment. We will look into it and provide an update.”
