Srinagar, June 11 (Gulistan News): The Committee for Fixation of Fee Structure of Private Educational Institutions (FFRC), Jammu and Kashmir, has issued a directive warning private schools against charging admission fees, which is in violation of the Jammu & Kashmir School Education Act, 2002 (as amended).
According to the order, FFRC stated that despite clear legal provisions and previous orders, some schools are still charging admission fees, often without proper receipts or through untraceable methods. Section 20E (1) of the Act explicitly prohibits private schools from charging any fees other than those approved under the Act.
The directive further stated that such violations would attract strict legal action. The committee has called upon parents and students to report such cases through the official email at chairmanffe@gmail.com or the helpline numbers 0194-4034841 (Srinagar) and 0191-2956990 (Jammu), assuring confidentiality.
