Govt. Model Degree College Zanskar Construction Projects: Principal Urges Contractors to Speed Up Work and Maintain Quality

In reference to the seven construction projects in progress under SDP/District Capex/ District SDP at Govt. Model Degree College Zanskar, a meeting was convened under the chair of Principal Mr. MNM Shabani today on 24/05/2023 in the college Conference Hall. The meeting was attended by Mr. Rehmatullah Wani AEE PWD Zanskar, Zakir representing Consultant Northern Eco Earth Design Solution Kargil, Mr. Mr Fayaz D Hamaliyan Architect & Designer Kargil and all the concern contractors.

Mr. Rehmatullah AEE presented a detailed work in progress of the ongoing projects which includes Indoor stadium/ multipurpose Hall, Gazetted staff quarter, Non Gazetted staff quarter, Girls Hostel, Boys Hostel, Science Laboratory Block and Variou Department Staff Quarter.

Mr. MNM Shabani directed the concern contractors to gear up the pace of work as the region has very short period of working season. He further informed that there is sufficient funds budget available and Commissioner Secretary Higher Education has assured flow of funds as the work progresses but compromise in the quality of work and materials should not be entertained. In order to get the pace of work and maintain the quality he directed the contractors to be in touch with the consultants. Furthermore the foundation line marking of Science laboratory has been completed and directed the concern contractor to start excavation process at an earliest. He also paid a patient hearing to the problems being faced by the contractors and assures them to provide all logistic support. The college principal thanks all the officials for attending the meeting and stressed all to work in collaboration to make the projects get accomplished with the desired satisfaction. He also directed the concern contractors to submit a time line within a period of one month in order to complete the projects within a stipulated time frame work. The contractors unanimously agreed to utilise overtime for accelerating the pace of work as under given condition double shift is not possible.
