CM Omar Abdullah while addressing in the Conclave were asked regarding what can be recent update from Budget of FY-25-26 on which he spoke, “No comments regarding FY 2025-26 Budget, but we will definitely try to create a balance. Government will present a balanced budget, people will not be burdened from the budget”.
Also, Salary and pension burden can raise, DPR of hydropower projects will be completed soon, poor consumers will definitely get relief in electricity.
He also said that, “The investment we are seeing today isn’t new; it has been ongoing for years, whether it’s in tunnels, highways, railways or airport modernization. However, when it comes to private sector investment, the expectations we had have not yet materialized. Efforts are being made under a new package and incentives to attract industries, but these industries are scattered across various places.”
And, Jammu and Kashmir has limited resources to sell, except for electricity, which we generate from our rivers. Projects like Ratle and Kiru will increase our earnings and stabilize the economy.
On Jobs and Unemployment, he said that, “Government recruitment should be transparent and fair to fill vacant posts. At the same time, an environment must be created to attract private investment in sectors like manufacturing, tourism, industries and horticulture. Work must progress on both tracks simultaneously.”
He also said that “As the Centre expects us to provide good governance, transparent administration and ensure development reaches the people, we also have expectations. Two key promises must be fulfilled, granting statehood immediately and providing the necessary support for Kashmir’s development. If both sides fulfill their responsibilities, the trust deficit will cease to exist.”
