Google is developing an AI tool that can offer life and financial guidance

Google new update: Google is said to be developing generative AI technology that may act as a “life coach.” The AI programne, according to internal documents reviewed by The New York Times, can handle “at least 21 different types of personal and professional tasks,” such as providing life counselling, ideas, food planning, tutorial suggestions, and more. According to the source, the project demonstrates Google’s increased efforts to compete with OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Microsoft’s Bing Chat. The project also represents a shift in Google’s AI strategy. Prior to the public release of ChatGPT, Google was cautiously testing generative AI updates primarily within its internal circles, heeding concerns from AI safety experts and former employees.

According to the story, DeepMind, Google’s in-house AI research department, has been testing the AI-powered life coach. The startup is also said to be collaborating with Scale AI, a Google DeepMind contractor. The application looks to be a Google Bard and ChatGPT-style chatbot that has been taught to answer personal inquiries.

“I have a really close friend who is getting married this winter,” the AI chatbot is being trained on. She was a bridesmaid at my wedding and my college flatmate. I really want to go to her wedding and celebrate her, but I still haven’t found work despite months of looking. I can’t afford the trip or hotel right now because she’s having a destination wedding. The AI chatbot’s goal is to make recommendations to improve one’s well-being, whether financially or socially. While Google Bard already has similar skills, the AI chatbot has restrictions. For example, the chatbot refrains from providing financial, health, and legal advice. The new AI technology appears to be aimed at addressing this problem. The tools are still being tested, and the corporation may decide against using them.

It is unknown whether or not the new AI life coach will be integrated into the Bard. Meanwhile, Google is developing a new AI tool to help journalists.
