General Officer Commanding in Chief (GOC-in-C) Northern Command, Lt Gen M V Suchindra Kumar conducted an extensive review of the counter-terrorism operations and the prevailing security situation in Kashmir.
Accompanied by the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Chinar Corps, Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai visited key areas in both south and north Kashmir, where he assessed the operational readiness and tactical efficiency of the security forces deployed in these regions.
During his visit to south Kashmir, a region that has been a focal point of counter-terrorism operations, Lt Gen Kumar reviewed the counter-terrorism grid.
The Northern Army Commander was briefed on the current security dynamics, including the soldier-citizen connect initiatives, which have been instrumental in fostering trust and cooperation between the armed forces and people.

In north Kashmir, Lt Gen Kumar’s review of the security situation was equally thorough.
Known for its challenging terrain and proximity to the Line of Control (LoC), north Kashmir requires constant vigilance and a proactive approach to countering infiltration and terrorist activities.
The Northern Army Commander, accompanied by the GOC 15 Corps, assessed the operational strategies in place and the readiness of the forces to respond to potential threats.
Lt Gen Kumar expressed his satisfaction with the performance of the troops and their ability to adapt to the complex operational environment.
He lauded their dedication and urged them to remain alert, emphasising the need for tactical precision and professionalism in addressing future challenges.
“The security of our nation is paramount. We should continue to refine our tactics, stay alert, and be prepared to face any challenge that comes our way,” he said.
