The National Conference leader and former J&K chief minister Omar Abdullah claimed that the gates of his residence were locked by the police, and he was escorted to his office like a “criminal” to stop him from visiting the Sunderbani area of Rajouri district.
These actions, according to Abdullah, were carried out under the pretext of maintaining law and order, reports say.
Taking a dig at the BJP and Lieutenant Governor Manoj Singh-led administration, Omar said, “This has not happened for the first time. And as the (Lok Sabha) elections draw closer, I am sure such curbs will witness a spurt.”
Omar criticised the government’s recent actions, claiming that it shows that the govenment has no power, ability, or courage.
