Gas cylinder explodes in Kerala’s Pathanamthitta, 3 injured

At least two firemen and another person were injured in a cylinder blast in business establishments near the civil station in Kerala’s Pathanamthitta district on Friday.

The blast occurred after a fire breakout in one of the business establishments in the area. The fire gradually engulfed nearby shops.

While efforts were being made to douse the flames, gas cylinders in one of the shops exploded before the fire spread further. Two firefighters were injured while trying to douse the fire. Another person suffered a head injury after a piece of wire from an exploded gas plug hit him. He was admitted to a private hospital in the city.

Gas cylinders in the nearby shops were also removed to prevent further explosions.
