Game of Thrones Actor Darren Kent Passes Away at Age 30s

Actor Darren Kent, renowned for his performance in Game of Thrones, has passed away. According to US-based news source Variety, Kent breathed his last on August 11, at the age of his late 30s.

Confirmation of his death came from his talent agency, Carey Dodd Associates, in a statement posted on Twitter on Tuesday.

“We are deeply saddened to inform you of the peaceful passing of our beloved friend and client Darren Kent on Friday. He was surrounded by his parents and best friend. Our hearts go out to his family during this challenging time. Rest in peace, dear friend,” the agency expressed.

Hailing from Essex, Kent was raised there and graduated from Italia Conti in 2007. His initial significant acting role was in a horror film in 2008. He later gained recognition for his portrayal in the Emmy-winning series Game of Thrones, where he played the part of a goatherd in Slavers Bay.

His most recent appearance was as a reanimated corpse in the 2023 movie Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.

Kent’s filmography also boasts credits in Snow White and the Huntsman, Marshal’s Law, Bloody Cuts, The Frankenstein Chronicles, Blood Drive, and Birds Sorrow, among others.

A noteworthy achievement for Kent was winning the best actor award at the Van D’or Awards in 2012 for his role as Danny, a boy with a rare skin condition preventing him from being in sunlight, in Sunny Boy. Interestingly, Kent shared a personal connection with his character, as he battled a skin disorder along with osteoporosis and arthritis.

Beyond his acting, Kent was an accomplished writer and director. He helmed the 2021 short film You Know Me, which earned him a January Award, according to reports from Variety.
