Skyview by Empyrean, India’s leading sustainable mobility and tourism infrastructure destination, hosted the 4th edition of the Patnitop Marathon on 26 May. The event was organised by KA Sports and Events, founded by Iron Man triathlete Kapil Arora, with support from the Patnitop Development Authority and Jammu and Kashmir Tourism.
The marathon celebrated sportsmanship and promoted health and fitness among all age groups. It attracted over 500 participants from 48 cities and 14 states and union territories across India.
Brigadier Shantanu Kashyap, Sena Medal, Brig Aviation HQ, Northern Command, was the chief guest. Other dignitaries included Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Ms Saloni Rai, IAS, Joint Director Tourism, Ms Sunaina Sharma Mehta, JKAS, and CEO Patnitop Development Authority, Sh Devender Singh Bhau, JKAS.
Ms Saloni Rai, IAS, Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, congratulated the organisers and noted the event’s role in promoting Patnitop and supporting the Fit-India movement. She extended her best wishes to all participants.
Runners competed in the 21.1km half marathon and 10km run across four age categories: 18-35 years, 35-45 years, 45-55 years, and 55+ years. The non-competitive 5km run was open to participants aged 5 and above.
