Toshakhana case
Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi have been sentenced to 14 years in jail in a case related to illegal selling of state gifts and the verdict also includes a 10-year disqualification from holding public office, his party said on Wednesday
Both have been fined Pakistani rupees (PKR) 787 million each.
Earlier this month, Pakistan’s anti-corruption court had indicted Khan and Bibi in the Toshakhana graft case filed against them by the anti-corruption watchdog National Accountability Bureau.
The verdict in the Toshakhana case comes a day after a Pakistan special court , set up under the Official Secrets Act, sentenced Imran Khan and former Pakistan foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi to 10 years in prison for the breach of state secrets.
