It is an auspicious day that holy Amarnath Ji pilgrimage 2024 started today from the Base Camp in Bhagwati Nagar here.
This was stated by senior BJP leader and former Mayor of jammu Rajinder Sharma who was among the prominent personalities present at the flagging off ceremony of holy Amarnath Ji pilgrimage 2024 which was accomplished by the Lieutenant Governor of J&K, Manoj Sinha.
Sharma later told reporters that holy Amarnath Ji pilgrimage unites the people of the country as the pilgrims from all the corners of India and even from abroad join this pilgrimage to get blessings of Lord Shiva.
” People representing different religions and parts of country from Kashmir to Kanyakumari contribute to the pilgrimage by establishing Langars and offering their services and many others render their services as Ponywalas, Pithus, Palkiwalas etc,” the senior BJP leader maintained. This represents ethos of One Nation One India.
He voiced for betterment of system for allowing urgent movements amidst the Yatra convoy as someone with medical emergency or the students going for exams should not be stopped from moving through the Yatra convoy as public was hold up on the road from 3 am to 6.43 am. He said administration is meant for simplification of administrative procedures. So every effort must be made not to make public inconvenient.
The former Mayor said that administration should also think over the route from Base Camp in Bhagwati Nagar to jammu University route to Bagh-e-Bahu to bypass instead of taking the Yatra convoy to the city areas making certain restrictions which affect the normal life of jammu people.
“As the Yatra convoy today affected public movement, I as a former Mayor express regret to the people of Jammu and expect that such things should not recur,” Sharma continued.
He said that the administration should ensure that the Yatra convoy should not affect normal life and for vital movements the administration should issue passes.
