Former Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industries President Sheikh Ashiq has joined Er Rashid’s Awami Itihad Party. Ashiq pledged to advocate for the rights of Jammu and Kashmir and its people, stating that AIP is the best platform to restore their dignity and respect. At the joining ceremony, attended by several political leaders and businessmen including Advocate G N Shaheen, Ashiq emphasized that AIP’s manifesto aims to restore honor and trust in the region. He also expressed support for AIP chief Er Rashid, currently imprisoned, and vowed to work towards making Kashmir a “jail-free” region, addressing numerous cases that need attention.
