Ganderbal, May 26 :
In a tragic conclusion to a relentless four-day search operation, the body of Mohammad Shamim Mir, a dedicated Forest Guard from Batwina, Ganderbal, was recovered today from the Nallah Sindh. Mir had drowned on May 23 while performing his official duties in the Paribal Chudina area.

The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), in coordination with the Jammu and Kashmir Police and local residents, worked tirelessly around the clock to locate and retrieve his body. The successful operation highlights the unwavering commitment of the rescue teams and the solidarity of the local community in times of crisis.

Mohammad Shamim Mir was reported to have been engaged in routine fieldwork related to forest protection when the unfortunate incident occurred. His dedication to safeguarding the region’s natural resources is being widely lauded.

Authorities have extended their condolences to the bereaved family and assured them of all necessary support. The Forest Department also paid tribute to Mir’s service, describing him as a diligent and courageous officer.
