India’s Foreign Minister S Jaishankar is currently on a tour of Panama. He has arrived here on a two-day tour. During this, the country’s Deputy Foreign Minister Vladimir Frankos welcomed him. Jaishankar will discuss bilateral and multilateral agenda in Panama. But earlier when he spoke to the media, he targeted Pakistan. Jaishankar has termed Pakistan as a neighbor which continues to promote cross-border terrorism.
According to Jaishankar, any kind of relationship with such a neighbor is very difficult.
Slammed Pakistan fiercely
Present in a joint press conference with the Foreign Minister of Panama, Jaishankar lashed out at Pakistan. He said, ‘It becomes very difficult for us to maintain contact with a neighbor who is involved in promoting cross-border terrorism. We have always said that they have to fulfill their promise of not supporting terrorism and stopping cross-border terrorism.
Bilawal Bhutto is coming to India
After this he hoped that one day both the countries would reach that stage. This statement of Jaishankar is being seen as the first comment of the Government of India after the terrorist attack in Poonch. Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto will be in India in the next few days. It is clear from Jaishankar’s statement that when Bilawal will be present at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) conference, he will have to hear a lot from India’s side on terrorism. This statement gives an indication that when India will share the stage with Pakistan in the conference to be held in Goa, then what will happen there.#BorderTerrorism
Jaishankar’s historic visit
Jaishankar is going to discuss many issues with Panama’s Foreign Minister Janaina Teveni on this visit. Jaishankar is the first South Asian minister to visit Panama. India and Panama enjoy bilateral relations for over six decades. Emphasizing the importance of his visit, Panama’s foreign ministry said ‘for the first time in history, an Indian foreign minister’ is visiting Panama.
The Ministry of External Affairs said that a visit comes on top after Jaishankar’s visit to Central America. When Janania Tiveny came to India in January, she had invited Jaishankar. Panama believes that his visit shows how fast India is emerging as a global leader.
