A number of houses in the small village of Krivtsovo near Moscow were on fire over an area of 3,200 sq m (34,400 sq ft) early on Wednesday, according to Russia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations. The ministry communicated this information on the Telegram messaging app.
The ministry stated that firefighters were actively working to prevent the further spread of the fire to nearby houses and the surrounding forest. Their efforts were focused on containing the fire and minimizing damage.
Fortunately, preliminary reports indicated that there were no casualties resulting from the incident. However, the cause of the fire remains unknown at this time, and investigations are underway to determine its origin.
Krivtsovo village is situated in the Solnechnogorsk administrative district, approximately 80 km (50 miles) away from the Kremlin, the central hub of Moscow. The village’s proximity to the capital city adds to the significance of the incident and the urgency of the firefighting efforts.
