A residentail house got damaged in fire mishap in Kokernag area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Tuesday. Reports said that a devastating fire broke out during the night hours in the single-storied residential house of Bashir Ahmad Sheikh, son of Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh, in the village of Soafshali, Kokernag. The fire caused extensive damage to the house, which was completely engulfed in flames by the time local authorities and villagers arrived on the scene. Fire tenders, along with the efforts of local residents, worked tirelessly to control the blaze and eventually brought it under control. Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported as a result of the incident, and all family members were safely evacuated. Preliminary investigations suggest that the fire may have been caused by a short circuit, though further inquiries are underway to confirm the exact cause. Local authorities have assured that they will take necessary steps to assist the affected family and ensure proper investigation into the incident.
