The Jammu and Kashmir unit of Shiv Sena, headed by Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray, has appealed to the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir to assess the losses incurred by farmers due to unseasonal rainfall in Jammu region.
J&K Shiv Sena President, Manish Sahni, demanded adequate relief for farmers affected by unseasonal rains and hailstorms while speaking at a function in the area.
According to the J&K Shiv Sena president, Manish Sahni, the party is committed to supporting farmers during this time of crisis and will make every effort to ensure that they receive proper compensation for the damage caused by unseasonal rains and hailstorms.
Pandit Rajesh Kesri, the president of Shiv Sena Hindustan (SSH) in Jammu and Kashmir, has also urged for appropriate compensation to be given to farmers in the border areas for their wheat crops that have been damaged due to unseasonal rains and hailstorms.
Pandit Rajesh Kesri, the J&K president of Shiv Sena Hindustan, has alleged that the government is downplaying the actual losses suffered by farmers due to recent unseasonal rain and hailstorms. According to him, farmers in border areas have reported significant damages, with losses ranging from 60% to 80% in some places. However, the government has only reported losses of 20% to 25%. He has demanded suitable compensation per quintal for wheat crops to help affected farmers.
Pandit Rajesh Kesri asked the farmers to provide complete information about their land, area and crop on the ‘Meri Fasal Mera Byora’ portal. He also informed that the government has created the e-Fasal Kshatipurti portal, on which farmers can register their crop loss within 72 hours.
