Failures just part of journey: J-K girl who cracked UPSC

In a remarkable example of never giving up, Anmol Rathore, a 25-year-old girl from J&K’s Bhaderwah has cracked the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) in her third attempt at one of the toughest exams in the country.

Rathore has secured All India Rank 7th.

She completed her bachelors in LLB honours from Gujarat National Law University in 2021 and also qualified the Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS) recently. At present she is also undergoing a training for the same.

“Wherever I get posted, my aim would be to serve people there,” Rathore told media.

She said it was her grandfather’s dream that she qualifies the UPSC.

“Manzil milegi ghar se nikal ke hi sahi, gumrah toh woh hai jo ghar se nikle hi nahi” (You will reach the destiny when you leave your home, lost are those who never leave their homes), she said while speaking to a Jammu based media.

“Failures are only a part of journey,” she said.

If one dreams of qualifying exams of such levels, they shouldn’t get disheartened by failures, she said.

The J&K LG, Manoj Sinha, also congratulated her and said that she is an inspiration for the youth.

“Heartiest congratulations to Anmol Rathore (AIR:7) and all aspirants from J&K who have cleared UPSC CSE-2023. Your remarkable achievements will inspire youth of J&K. Best wishes to all the successful candidates,” LG said on his X handle.
