6 deaths in an Explosion: A firecracker factory explosion on Sunday morning in Jagannathpur, West Bengal, is believed to have killed at least five persons. The Duttapukur police station in the North 24 Parganas district was in charge of the event.

“The explosion happened around 10 am when several people were working at the factory in Nilgunj’s Moshpole in the Duttapukur police station area, around 30 km north of Kolkata,” the police said.

Authorities arrived at the location, and a search and evacuation operation was started. At the moment, firefighters are extinguishing the fire.

Asis Ghosh, the fire station officer present on the site, said, “Five bodies have been recovered so far.”
