An eviction notice has been served to the Gadhiya Masjid, its adjoining madrasa, and the Idgah in Gadhiya Chintaman village, leading to unrest among the Muslim community. The local administration issued the notice, requiring these structures to be vacated by April 8, 2025, claiming they were built on Gram Sabha land without authorization.

The eviction order was issued by the Tehsil Court on January 27, 2025. Sub-Divisional Magistrate Rajesh Kumar Singh stated that action will be taken if the encroachment is not removed. Activist Arvind Kishore Shahi supports the move, calling it a case of “land jihad. ”

The All India Muslim Personal Law Board condemned the notice as an attack on religious freedom. Local imam Maulana Anwarul Haq stated the mosque has served as a place of worship for two decades and criticized the order. As the deadline approaches, the community fears the potential impact on minority religious sites.
