IPL 2023: Jofra Archer has been ruled out of the rest of the Indian Premier League 2023 due to an injury. Chris Jordan, another English veteran, has been named as Archer’s replacement Mumbai Indians have suffered a major setback ahead of their must-win game against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), as England pacer Jofra Archer has been ruled out of the IPL 2023. Mumbai Indians on Tuesday announced that Chris Jordan will join the squad for the rest of the season. Archer has only played five games for the Mumbai Indians and has only taken two wickets at an economy rate of 9.50.

Chris replaces Jofra Archer, whose recovery and fitness continue to be monitored by ECB. Jofra will return home to focus on his rehabilitation. Archer returned to international cricket earlier this year after a nearly two-year absence due to elbow and back injuries that both jeopardized his career.

Meanwhile, Jordan, who went unsold at a base price of Rs 2 crore at the December auction, has previously represented ECB, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Punjab Kings, and Chennai Super Kings in the IPL. Jordan, 34, made his IPL debut in 2016 and has 27 wickets to his name in 28 IPL matches. The speedster has played 87 T20Is for England and has taken 96 T20I wickets. Jordan last appeared in the IPL in 2022 for the Super Kings, where he took two wickets in four appearances.
