PULWAMA: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Dr. Basharat Qayoom visited IGC Lassipora and inspected various industrial units, besides he also interacted with various Unit holders and other stakeholders.
During the interaction, President, Industrial Estates, Lassipora, Muzaffar Ahmed apprised the DC about various issues and problems faced by the Unit Holders.
The association apprised DC about different issues including smooth supply of drinking water in the Industrial Estates, health care facilities, proper dumping of solid waste t in the Industrial Estates, macadamization of roads including inner roads, power supply, land encroachment and smooth transportation of products to outside states.
It was informed that 668 Units of Industrial Estates Lassipora provides employment to 9000 people of the district and the total turnover is 6000 Crores.
The DC issued on spot directions to accompanying officers and fixed timelines for redressal of issues that are in advanced stages of compliance.
He also directed the concerned from PDD for speeding up the ongoing construction and developmental work of Receiving Station by pressing its men and machinery into service to make it functional within a week’s time.
Considering IGC as a crown of Industrial Estates of the Valley, DC said that it is our collective responsibility to keep the surroundings of Industrial Estates Lassipora neat and clean and make it pollution free.
He directed the concerned department looking after estates to come up with a concrete plan of waste management within a fortnight.
DC also visited several cold storage units and inspected various sections including CA Store, Grading Line, Packaging Section and Plant Room, Haleeb Dairy Milk, Zum Zum Milk Products, M/S Sunrise Poly wood industries and MAS Cement Products and providing banking facilities.
Earlier, DC convened a meeting of officers to discuss the various issues and problems being faced by the Unit Holders of Industrial Estates.
DC assured that the District Administration is committed to provide all the logistic support to make IGC Lassipora a centre of Industrial excellence. He added that the spirit of Ease of Doing Business is only possible through the coordination among the department of Industries and Commerce, SIDCO, PDD and Pollution Control Board.
